Our subsidiary, GCS Tanzania Limited, is building a distribution network of local entrepreneurs who teach, introduce, and sell high-impact technologies to villagers in the most remote of places. As we work deep in the villages with a demand-driven model, we are able to better understand the needs of our customers.
Where there is a need and a solution, GCS Tanzania Limited brings that product to these villagers. Where there is a need and no solution, Global Cycle Solutions as an umbrella organization develops these technologies in close collaboration with villages, universities, and like-minded partners. Over the past two years, GCS has impacted the lives of over 20,000 families with the sale of its products.
Today, GCS grows to create a village ambassador network so that villagers throughout the country can have technology at their fingertips, whether as a service or as a product. GCS already has trained over 100 entrepreneurs, building opportunities that not only economically empower individuals, but also improves the standard of life for the villagers we work with.
Position Summary
The Assistant Regional Coordinator will assist the Regional Coordinator in building a network of entrepreneurs that will be responsible for selling transformative technologies (including solar and pedal powered products) to their communities. The Assistant Regional Coordinator will lead the project fieldwork including Recruitment of Field officers and micro entrepreneurs, running training sessions, and monitoring and evaluation. The Assistant Regional Coordinator will work closely with the Regional Coordinator to develop strategic plans for the region.
Specific Responsibilities:
The Assistant Regional Coordinator is responsible for:
Implement growth strategy for Rafiki (entrepreneur) network including recruitment and support of Field officer and micro entrepreneurs
Plan, implement and analyze sales activities.
Lead field officer and entrepreneur training sessions, including scheduling the place/time, delivering training materials and gathering feedback to improve future training sessions
Monitor the progress of field officers and entrepreneurs by making weekly calls and bi-weekly site visits
Closely record successes and failures and make improvements to the current system
Assist with administrative and logistical aspects of the program
Ensure that financial spending for projects is consistent with budget
Communicate on a regular basis with the Regional Coordinator via weekly reports/emails and scheduled feedback meetings
Mobilize and motivate sales teams.
Monitor and manage sales volume, sales trends, and customer satisfaction.
Coordinate cooperation between the micro entrepreneurs and various groups in the villages (Including VICOBA and SACCOS among others)
Specific skills
· Diploma, degree in community development or sales and marketing
· Driving is a necessary skill for this position
· Experience of at least 1 year in the related field
· Computer literate exposure to MS Office
